Currently I use GHS Boomers ( custom set) but unfortunately they don't have 64 gauge string ( which I need at this moment)
So I was forced to try another producer.I wanna know your opinion about this strings.

I know there must be the difference, I compared GHS to D'addario and the difference was huge.

As a Lifetime GHS user until recently I have tried the "not even slinky"

In feel and tone comparison, they were VERY close if not, just as good or better than GHS.

this next part is my rant and probably needs a seperate thread entirely so i do apologise :)

I then realised I was a complete idiot for only looking at the 12 and not the 56 (I was looking for a set of 12's).

That 56 is just too damn big for me. I quickly replaced with a pair of the light bottom, heavy top EB and a little better but still seem a little big.

But now im curious does the guitar actually play a factor of how the strings feel?

I have always tuned to D, Drop D and now usually Drop C, So i Liked 11 or 12 guage. They were comfy, easy to play and sounded good.

Not sure if its my new old S540 vs my Jackson guitars but 12's just seem too damn big on the Ibanez.

When I got the guitar Im pretty sure it had 9's and got used to them, that could be the other thing. But im going to 11's asap and then perhaps 10's.

That guitar was designed for 9's according to Ibanez so again I wonder does the actual guitar play a difference of how the string gauge feel or am I just becoming paranoid?

(I sure miss the days before I discovered Rig-Talk and better tone)
