First post - so, greetings.

I've ordered a H9 but having some second thoughts. I'm really a limited effects guy, really only use Delay, Reverb and perhaps some very limited chorus. Also not really that keen on a multifx unit as opposed to dedicated pedals or even rack units. That said, I read all the reviews on how awesome the H9 is and....

So is it really that awesome? Are the delays that much better than a Flashback or an old DD2? How about the verbs and choruses - better than the Flashback and CE-2? Have to admit, thought the DD2 was going to be top of the digital delay mountain, but actually thought the Flashback sounded fuller and just better (like it was operating with a more complete bandwith). Will I likely notice a similar thing with the H9? Is the G Major 2 comparable/better?

At the end of the day, was content with just sticking to the TC pedals - but they cost almost the same price as a H9 core and the algos that i'll be using.

H9 is awesome! I recently picked up a max and a core for my board. One runs into the loop and the other in the front. They sound amazing! The IOS interface is superb and works great. I have an iKlip on my mic stand live and can quickly change things around as needed. No more bending over to twist knobs. There really are a lot of stellar sounds to be found on it. Super easy to tweak as well. You simply save a new name as a user present and then you can simply send it to the pedal to save as well.

Both of them run together off of the same ipad with no issue. I can also hook them up to my computer via USB when needed.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it. I guess I'll definitely check it out once in.

I think it does sound awesome but my IOS deal won't work with it so it fails in the regard.

I have 2 on my board and all the algorithms. They're great pieces of gear, extremely versatile, deceptively simple to program, edit, etc.

I actually own or have owned just about everything you mentioned above - H9, G Major 2, DD-2, Flashback, etc. Had them all on a board or in a rack at some point, and used them all live. Right now, I have 2 H9's AND my old DD-2 on my board.

The delays in the H9 are awesome, especially how much you can quickly customize dual delays of any type. I keep my old DD-2 on the board with my H9's because A) I use a Gigrig G2 and control the H9's via midi, so my delays are usually tied to patches and I sometimes just want to step on a delay I don't have already on a patch, and B) after hearing that DD-2 for 10 years, sometimes I just want THAT sound because I'm so used to hearing it.

The tones in the H9 are really quality sounding. The delays are great. The Flanger is great too.

However, don't be alarmed by a lot of useless algorithms. The Reg H9 is loaded with them. You have to tweek a lot to get useful tones. Almost every single preset sucks. The other gripe i have is the is the lack of control for the FX level. It's hard to get it to sound just right. It's either too much or to little. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I struggle to get what I want from the H9. I can usually get there but it takes a lot of tweeking. I find myself checking out all the samples and never buying anything. I can't seem to get what I want from any of it.

Except the delays. I can get what I need out of that and it sounds great.
