There are plenty of custom builders who do Strat and Tele clones, but what about Gibson V clones? I'm not in the market, financially, for a guitar at the moment, but curious if there are any (known) builders who do '67 V's? Ideally, something reasonably priced [think Chubtone pricing.. basically $1500 area would be ideal.]
I've owned an Epiphone '67 Flying V for almost 20 years... It was my second guitar ever, and it's been my only guitar for the bulk of that time. It's a guitar I will not get rid of. However, I recently picked up a newer Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas, and absolutely love the neck. I started thinking what my ultimate guitar would be... and I think it's my Epiphone '67 V with the Pro Mod San Dimas neck shape/radius. Hence why I'm here asking about custom builders because I'm not interested in a V-shaped guitar with a thinner/wider/flatter neck. I'm really after something identical to a '67 Flying V, but with my neck specs (and obviously no Gibson logo on the head stock).
Any Flying V guys around these parts?
If I wanted something 'fancier' (and way out of what my guitar budget would ever be), I'd be looking at Ken Lawrence, but alas I'm looking for something more reasonable and basic.
