Guys, first post here, been lurking for a while...

So, I got my new EVH 50 watt head with the 2x12 cab this week. Rehearsed it Wed, gigged it last night. Great tones, I really love the sound of the thing. Only issue is, I am getting an insane amount of feedback any time I use channel 3. Is this normal? Did I get a lemon?

(Sorry in advance if this is old territory, I tried the search engine but it doesn't really clear things up)

Not sure if normal or this helps, but I have a 50 watt 5153 and matching 2x12 and was playing last night. Only played in bedroom but volume at 3 and no feedback. This was sitting maybe 3 feet from amp also.

No feedback on my EVH 50 watt on channel 3 either. Might be a problematic tube, or possibly extreme gain settings. How high are you running the gain? I don't ever need to run higher than 12 o clock for the gain on channel three.

What are you running in front of the amp (pedals/pickups)?

Gain was at 9 o'clock. As far as effects. I have an mxr chorus and phase 90 and boss tremolo and Dd3 and a HOF reverb in the loop. In front just aBoss pitch shifter, ep booster and a wampler paisley drive. All of my guitars produced feedback. Les Paul and SG with 57 classics, strat with Texas specials and tele with tex mex pickups.

Was the feedback occurring even with the EP and Paisley off?

Yup, even with no effects on, wicked feedback. I reached out to EVH. Good to see it isn't a common problem. Hopefully they can remedy or I will exchange it with MF.

yeah, something must be up. I've only ever had feedback problems when a boost was engaged.
