I'll have to look at my notes. I think one matched the schematic and another one didnt. They were substantial circuit differences.

My good Sir,

Would you say that the differences are a good thing or a bad thing or neither?

G.

Figured I would bump this thing to see if anyone has heard more about the revisions. How and if they affect the tone at all...Personally I think if they were to change anything they should add more gain and lowend to channel 2

liking the 5150III more each time I play it, also interested in what the differences are

I know there was a fix, I forgot what it was, my guitar teacher is evh sponsored and his 100w, which was an early model had an issue that it was blowing some internal fuse... They replaced it, and he said that the one they sent him is a little warmer.. But that's about all the information he gave me.

There's a guy on TGP who's a fender rep and is involved in the production of the amp. Moreso with the 50 watt IIRC. He answers questions like this regularly. If I'm not mistaken, He's come on here a few times as well. Just do a search there and he'll answer any question.

I bought mine over a year ago, and the tube layout sticker says Rev D on it.

I`ve had this issue 2 times in the past. Changed the little mini fuse and it was back up and running. Didn`t have the issue in over 3 years. I changed the tubes after the second time, maybe it was tube related, i don`t know. I was running a modded EQ-7 in the loop at the time and the level was boosted a bit, at the time i thought maybe it was related to an overly hot return level. But i doubt the loop is fuse protected

If you ever find the info on the fix, i`d like to know. If it ever happens again i`d have an idea what to look for.

Chris

Rev D = Dumble Mod , you just have to find the switch.

...........ok .......maybe not.....

I spoke with the guy who works at Fender/EVH who posts on The Gear Page..He emailed me sayin the revisions have had no effect on the tone of the amplifier..He did not mention exactly what the revisions are but I would imagine they address whatever switching and fuse issues the amp had in the past.. I also have blown the fuze mentioned in my EVH once so far.

Well, the guys at Mesa used to say that the 3ch sounded exactly like the 2ch rectos, so I'd take that with a grain of salt.

My 5153 is revC, JJ power tubes. V1 was a sovtek 12ax7wa...I obviously changed that right away.

Still, I'd really like to know what the differences actually are
