Just one more EVH thread

Damn shame it took the mans passing away to get a XM channel.

I for one hope like hell it becomes permanent. I'm hearing grooves that I'd never hear on the radios otherwise, unless I hook up a device full of mp3's

I just seen that message in my email.
Should be a killer station. Wonder how long it will be broadcasting EVH tunes?

Didn't see anything at my end but pumped to check it out, only so many more times I can listen to Quiet Riot on Hair nation :P. What channel is it?

Apparently it’s only all VH until Sunday. Maybe they’ll keep it longer.

I'm a "glass-half-full" guy most of the time so I try to find the good....if there was any silver lining in this horrible thing, it's that for just a few moments, the guitar community was completely united and just focused on sharing great music from the guy that most of us idolized.

Well said.. but don't you mention his gear or else it will kick off! Oddly though, I think all these years and from beyond, he would get a kick out of our obsession with his early tone and how he got there. Even from the pros who played his rig.. they all said HE was the tone. Stuff like that only cements him further as a legend.

When I was a child I figured out the half-full, half-empty paradox. If you are filling a glass, when you get half way, it's half full, if you empty a glass, when you get half out, it's half empty. No one disargeed with an eight year old that made sense, except pure idiots that thought there was no answer. Idiots show their true self worth when confronted with an acceptable but different view.

Truth. People go apeshit-bananas over the nuances of his rig, and while i totally get the fascination with a great tone, I try not to focus on it - I don't want to be the guy with great gear and tone with no chops lol. "his rig sounds JUST LIKE EVH - but he plays like shit"
