EVH Wolfgang Guys: What do I have here?

I bought this from Atomic Music in Beltsville, MD. It was consigned by Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour. Apparently, it was given to him by EVH (the man or the company, I am not sure which) as a pre-production EVH Wolfgang. It doesn't have a serial #. Is this a US or MIJ Wolfgang?

Either way, it doesn't matter to me. The guitar plays like a dream.

That's definitely pure USA made(but by Mexicans of course)
 
Serial number should be stamped into the wood on either side on the headstock….
 
too dead on to be a fake however if you call fender about it they will tell you ALL evh's have a serial number including prototype,pre pros and even ed's guitars etc. Very odd to not have the serial number stamped on the side of the headstock
 
Got a confirmation from Mike Schleibaum that it is indeed a Pre-Pro.

yes that guitar was given to me around the start of the EVH brand line. It is one of the earliest versions of that guitar and although i dont have any documentation you can rest assured that she is from the first batch of whatever the produced of those guitars.
The newer EVH guitars have a bit more "roundness" to them but overall are about the same.
I hope you enjoy that axe...we used to use that bad boy all the time and if we were not so insane about needing the whammy bars to go both up and down we probably would have hung onto her..but i am glad she has found a new home. if you have any questions feel free to email me directly at xxxxxxxxxxx

I love the neck on these guitars!!! Matter of fact, I love the guitar!!!
Mine was one of the six guitars brought to GC Hollywood as a "Demo" piece, and I always picked it up for demoing the amps.
When I've decided I had money enough for one I've picked up the one I liked out of the ones dinged and bruised demo pieces.
Was only after I've heard it was one o f the very early ones, since when they brought the display to the store the guitars we're just start selling.
It's one of the few guitars I can play for hours and have zero left hand fatigue!

Wow. Thanks for doing the research on this, bro. I just bought the mag. Once I get it, I will snap a pic of it next to the quilt.
