Anybody else here catch this show yet? Certainly if you play guitar I would have to say a must see of the year.
Billy Cox - Solid bass and vocals, plus the man played with Hendrix.
Dweezil Zappa - Killed it but made me realize why I hate 0101010101's - compared to all the real amps everyone else played the AXE FX sounded like ass to me and Dweezil is one of my favorite guitar players. Sound guy didn't do him any favors either and his pedal board was huge.
Jonny Lang - Dude F'ing killed it on all levels. Vocals and Guitar. What an amazing talent.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Tore the place up. New found respect. A bit cocky but man he can back it up.
Buddy Guy - If I am still playing like this guy in my 70's I would be one happy man. Just amazing.
Ana Popovic - Holy hotness and damn can she play the guitar and bring some killer vocals too. Did this thing with her legs while playing that was hot as hell. Smoking!
Eric Johnson - Awesome player and showed me a side I had never seen before, the man can play some damn fine guitar but his tone and phrasing is too nice/smooth for my taste. Especially in a Hendrix thing looking for a certain vibe. He brought it just not my kinda thang!
Eric Gales - Another one who killed it vocally and guitar wise. Damn cats got chops.
All in all I would have to say Jonny Lang was my favorite of the show. His tele (thinline??) was a bit too bright for my taste but it didn't sound terrible and for a guy who looks 14 he has the voice of gods. I mean really he just has this damn voice that makes you go where the hell did that come from. The show had tons of wanking of course but it is well worth the price of admission. If it comes to your town see it.
