Check it out, I have to give it to Toontrack, they've jammed even more features in there and the editor. More flexibility with humanizing not just entire kit but individual elements ( I think? looking at the screenshots) About 99$ upgrade if you are an existing user. Will be a whole new thing so doesn't look like you can load all your old expansion kits into it. Makes me sort of question my SD3 purchase but I am not entirely sure if you have control over individual processing in this one. It looks like you might be able to dial back compression and room and EQ etc.. but not sure if you can get the whole kit raw as that might step on SD3's toes a bit. I like to apply my own FX and plugins rather than using the ones on board.

It does beg the question though, what do they have in store for an SD4 release and when would that be? Would be great if they addressed the cymbals and added more round robin hits to snare and hats. Snare and hats are still the weakest link in drum programs. I've been playing and testing SD3 through my E kit for a week and I almost have it there but still the hats aren't to my liking. Anyway check it out;

Can't wait for this to come out!

I heard back from Toontrack and although they are improving the product considerably, they are sticking with mix ready drums on this one too so as not to have too much cross over with SD3. I can only imagine what they could do with SD4

I've got an older version and been looking to move to something newer, I'll have to check this out when it's available.

Any update on this? Curious how it sounds, options, etc

I just downloaded it yesterday. So far it's pretty neat. All of my EZD2 stuff came over seamlessly.

Anyone pick it up yet?. I have EZ2 and SD3 so this might be redundant but they streamlined it and have some killer drums in this one. I thought there weren't any "raw" sounds in this one but there is apparently an "original" mix selection for each kit and it sounds like you can export these out as raw files. The cymbals sound good too. I wrote them a while back about that. Not crazy about a lot of their cymbals. Never solid, always splatty. Anyway, this is a good overview. I honestly don't use all the SD3 features, this might be interesting for workflow;

Grabbed it last night. I haven't even touched the new libraries yet but the built-in grid editor and humanize function are already winners in my book. I almost always build my own drum parts, which means a lot of tedious piano roll work. I built a song last night and the humanizer did a pretty solid job of getting the velocities realistic, just needed a few minor tweaks, which beats the hell out of manually editing the velocity of every hit.

How is the humanize function any different than the humanizer is now?

The humanize function in EZD2 just swaps out samples to reduce the machine gun effect. It doesn't do anything to velocity or timing. EZD3 is totally different. It adjusts velocity to fit a style you select (for example, double-time played hard) and can make micro timing adjustments.

I'm downloading the core right now. Know I'll love the update!!

Have barely dabbled but already has an easy gui to understand, great sounds, options, etc. I was able to easily find a style, change to a particular tone (dry, reverb, etc). Really think im going to love it!
