Been using Addictive Drums for a few years with the metal adpak. Also groove monkee midi packs. Was wondering if EZdrummer 2 is worth the moola?
I like the way the tap to tempo and songbuild features would help...instead of searching forever through midi beats, and then editing midi to fit my songs.

Also have Drummer in logic. Although it's cool, realtime stuff, the y never have double bass beats...so I still have to edit midi....so it's okay at best.

The 'tap to find' and 'song build' features just scratch the surface of what you can do with EXD2. Two of my favorite features is the ability to move the 'power hand' and the ability to increase or decrease the 'intensity' of a single or multiple selected drums. It is also very easy to bring in grooves into the timeline to audition them alongside existing midi. For instance, I have a verse and I have a chorus. I'll bring in a fill, shrink it if I have to and jam it in between the two parts. If I don't like it, try another. The thing is so easy and fun. I believe it is worth the moola for sure.

Yeah...I see the powerhand feature would help...Try going through mid beats, then having to highlight and paste all the midi ride hits, and move them to hihat etc. Kinda takes forever. But hell, I remember the days of using just my keyboard into midi, then adding hihats, cymbals etc. Took forever. haha

PS..where are you guys buying it? Sweetwater?

I only have the first EZdrummer, but I absolutely love it. Assuming two is better, go for it. I was really intimidated at first and mainly used tweaked versions of the included sample beats. Now I program 100% of my drum tracks and have learned to mix them better by sending each drum to a separate track. On a side note, it also makes conveying beats to a real drummer much easier than spending an hour at the practice space going "bm nt ct bm nt ct pshhhh!" with your mouth

Tap to find... It's pretty great.
Also, you can take the beats you find and alter the crap out of them visually to where they barely sound like what you started with. I love EZDrummer2.

I'm thinking about getting EZdrummer 2, however, I'm a little miffed that there is no discount for Superior Drummer 2 owners. Superior Drummer is supposed to be the flagship product but it does not have the song writing functions that EZdrumer 2 has. It's like I have to downgrade to upgrade. If I get EZdrummer 2 I can redirect the output to Superior Drummer, but that means I have to have two drum programs (and pay for both) from the same company to get my drum tracks...kinda sucks! :gethim:

Hoping this isn't hijacking your thread- I'm gonna be getting Logic Pro X which I know has a cool drum app in it. Does EZDrummer 2 offer stuff above and beyond what Logic Pro X can do?

Addictive Drums 2 just came out, I have the original and I really loved the drum sounds in it, I did a whole album with it. I thought it sounded more realistic than EZdrummer at the time. I really haven't had time to go over the features of AD2, but that tap/midi building feature looks awesome on EZD. Don't know if AD2 has a similar feature, and I'm not sure if its even worth the upgrade yet.

Yes.

Logic X drummer is cool realtime midi changer, with being able to change intensity, but If the drum part isn't what you want, then you still would have to dive into it to change hits. Plus, say another drummer(Kyle) has a beat you want...well all your drum parts change. So, only certain drummers have certain midi beats. Kinda slim.

I used some, and just transferred them to an addictive drums track...

Also, I saw AD2 was out. Nothing is striking me as a mass improvement over the first, but time will tell. I do like the first..

Any idea if you can pull a finished track off EZd2 into Addictive, or is the mapping too fucked up?

I have the first version of easy drummer. Really sounds like they have done something special with it. I'll have to update mine shortly.

They have a 10 day trial version. Go try it!

Wish I could... it won't let me log in for some reason. I go through the whole registration process and when I finally get to the login screen, the login button doesn't do anything. :aww: I even tried 2 different browsers.

Go back to the main Toontrack page and hit sign in on the top.

Now it keeps saying my password is invalid... I've changed my password 3 times and it still keeps saying its wrong. Why is this so hard? Does anyone have a direct link to the demo download?

Dude...don't use the direct link...just go to http://www.toontrack.com and once there, hit the log in at the top right. Copy your email and password and you will be logged in. Then go to EZdrummer 2 page and click Download Demo.

I just installed the demo. Used it 10 minutes in stand alone...it jams. The Basic kit with Vinnie Paul snare was the shiz.

The ease of use seemed so great. I am pretty sure i can incorporate my groove monkee libraries midi too.

I have 10 days, but see no reason why I won't be purchasing .

Does EZDrummer 2 also act as a sample library? As in- hey I want to replace this kick drum with a better sounding sample- or- I want to trigger sounds with a MIDI pad/keyboard?
