Favorite boost for JMP 2204?

I am not crazy about my OCD boosting my 2204, but it works much better with my other amps. To me it does something funky to the bottom end. for the 2204 i like my OD9 or SD1 neither of which is modded.

Agreed. I don't get along with that pedal at all.

I like it with my Brown eye, and its not too bad with my quick rod. Granted i use the od9 with those amps also, but it just depends on my mood.

Something "nasally" about it that makes me want to unplug it right away.. Probably just me...

I couldn't sell mine fast enough. Every amp and person is different. Its relative until there is a collective agreement that it sucks for boosting. Into a clean amp it sounded pretty good though.

Interesting...I find that it's pretty transparent, unlike an OD1/SD1/TS that to me add a mid/nasal thing. I will say that you should try a Joyo Ultimate boost..it's even better to my ears than the OCD(which it is supposed to clone) and it is cheap..I got it in a trade but I think they're 40 bucks..my OCD may be on the way out.

Just goes to show that we all hear things differently, I actually wished it had more mids and less bass. It can be a bit brittle too. It definitely works better as a stand alone overdrive, and then you smack it in the mouth with a tubescreamer which will clean the bottom end up and add the mid range.

I think i mentioned already that i did not like the OCD. Found it induced more high end and crunch than I liked and i also found it noisier than the bad monkey. The Joyo seems to have more lower frequencies so that might be worth a try. For the price it is a no brainer. This "badass" modified OD has me interested as well. I have the mid boost OD's covered. Would be interesting in finding something that feels like an extension of the amp. I found this video useful.. you can really hear it here and the guy is using the amp that is specific to our thread. Sound quality not the best but just take note of the amp's tone (no matter how bad it sounds to you) and then note the OD on top. I like what i hear. A little less mid shift:

Green Rhino and badass custom overdrive seem very similar in their features... Dunlop owns both i think..
