I've got the MXR 10-band. I like it for a solo boost in the loop. I decided I'm going to reshape what frequencies that I'm boosting and all that, but I just couldn't be bothered at the moment. 
It's good though. I think the 10-band is better for shaping your tone in the loop because there's more frequencies to work with than the 6-band, but there's not as much boost or cut. The 6-band is better for boosting your amp out front in my opinion since there's 18 dBs of boost or cut. Just my opinion on them.
