Feedback from my BE

Recently my 2014 BE is starting to squeal, feedback , at quite modest levels when the guitar volume is up (no feedback when guitar volume is at 0).

All of my guitars have wax potting and I have no issues with other high gain amps.

For reference the feedback can come from about 9 o clock on the be channel, and is almost unusable on the HBE channel. Is this now a valve issue, if so pre or power?

might be a microphonic preamp tube. I think Dave insists on is a JJ for the first two slots for that very reason. Get your hands on a fresh set and try em.
 
Simple with no guitar plugged in, take the back off tha amp and tap on v2 on the BE channel. Does it seem microphonic? Or if on the HBE channel does V1 seem microphonic? They will seem a bit no matter what. What we are looking for is excessive. If not it's not the amp, just cause your guitar pickups are potted does not mean they have not become microphonic over the years. What guitars and what pickups?

Thanks. Yes V1 is very ringy with no guitar plugged in. V2 not so much (normal I would say for a high gain amp)

Do I need a new valve...its rung sol currently? Do I need to replace just this valve or two? What make is your preferred
 
You can use a Tung sol. In production we use jj. I recommend Valve queen for the purchase. She can select for low microphonics.

I'll have to source here in the UK, but I assume just get a low microphonic Tung sol when buying
