Fender Player Stratocaster 2023 - it's A LOT more expensive than when it first came out

I originally bought my son a new Fender Player Series Stratocaster in 2018 when they first came out. I thought they were a great improvement over the previous MiM version. Five years later, the Player Series is still going strong so I grabbed a brand new one from Earle Teat Music in Delmar, DE to see if they have gotten any better or any worse. They are certainly more expensive now!!
Still worth the money?
