Anyone ever notice there is not much love of the Fender Strat here. Superstrats everywhere but not even many stock strats posted in the classifieds. Now I own like 5 strats but really don't much care for them myself. Is this because most of the members here are higher gain type players? Just wondering.

If you can buy it at Guitar Center it wont get much love here.

I have a USA deluxe  and Gibson Blonde beauty. Hopefully soon I can swing a Tele Select :D Weird only having 2 guitars :scared:

Im also not a high gainer, more blues/jazz/rock

Seriously though do a search. Theres been many a Fender Strat thread here. I have a USA Deluxe that I love!

Yeah I did sell my USA standard because the Deluxe felt so much better.

My point was they are not the norm or by any means the majority here.

I love strats albeit with Floyds and humbuckers. I have a couple of mutts with USA Fender necks. For me the full size strat body is the coolest body ever.

here's one

My biggest issue with stock Fender's is the neck radius, I prefer them a lot flatter or even better-compound.

I got a '99 USA strat that I'll never sell. I think you always need a strat on hand. One those guitars you hold on to when you find a good one.

But back to why their not on here? Why buy a car when you can get a hot rod. :dunno:

My main problem as well. I fucking hate vintage specs!.....7" - 9" radii, fat-ass necks, shitty tuners, etc....they can keep that shit. Gotta be superstrats for me.

FENDER STRAT HM FTW!

That looks like one of the axes that Greg Howe used to play.

Dude, you've been had.

I love my Fender Strat - beefy neck, stacked single coils, gorgeous fretwork, nearly black fretboard, 9.25 radius, Sperzel locking tuners, and two-point bridge.

Strats have been my main guitars since the early 90's. They get 75% of my play time at all of my gigs. No super Strats either - only good ol' 3 single coil American Strats. I have a bunch, but the three that get the most playtime are an '89 Plus, a '93 Plus and a '02 American Standard.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that people on RT don't like or play Strats, just because there are not a lot of threads about them. RT threads are typically skewed towards the flavour-of-the-month or currently (over) hyped new products.

The last time I checked, the Stratocaster is still the most widely-played and purchased guitar on the planet, and it has been for decades. That's not likely to change anytime soon.

I like Fender strats, it's just that there are other guitars I like more that cover those tones.

Are you sure about that? I read on the Internet somewhere that the Ibanez Iceman was the most played guitar on the planet.

Fender Stratocasters are all I use anymore. Variations of pickups and tunings.
For me, playing at my peak is as much about the feel of the instrument as the tone. Stratocasters feel like home. I can change electronics for different tones.

I love my Strats.

Actually, the Telecaster is the most played and recorded model in history. That said, I too have a 2008 American Special that is going nowhere. Satin neck and Texas Specials that, every time I think about changing I play for 5 minutes and fall in love with the sound all over again. Strats are awesome, but technically Teles rule. :)
