Ok, first, I don't need a clean channel. I played a QR before and it cleans up just the way I like.

I play classic to hard rock. No djent or anything super heavy and tight. I play in a cover band ala GNR, AIC, White Zombie, Zep, Hendrix, Stones, Rage, etc.

I play 50 watt amps (modded BFG 800, 5153), and I'm thinkin of another 50, but if the loop volume is real good as is the half power switch, then it might be good to have a 100. Thoughts??

Also, can't decide between the B+ or regular.

Feedback is greatly appreciated. Cheers!!!

the loop volume is INCREDIBLE...BEST feature. You can play a 100 watt amp at bedroom levels...or below. :D :D
Never played the B+ option...but it sounds cool

Yeah. So it has the half power and loop volume, so why not have the 100 (or 80 watt if it's the B+)?

If the B+ makes it feel juicier, by ALL means, go for that.

Cool. I'm leaning toward a 100watt B+ Pro Mod, Quickrod with no clean channel.

Any more thoughts and opinions?

I have a 100w pro mod b+. The best Splawn or marshall variant I've played. The b+ is the best Splawn option that they have introduced during their revisions. I've owned mine for most a yr and I still haven't even tried 3rd gear. I have no idea what it sounds like. The first two are that good!

Awesome! What can and speakers you play through?

How's the solo boost at higher volume? The Splawn I played did not have any volume boost as the master got louder.

Thx!

the built in volume boost ONLY works up to a certain volume...if you need it go louder just put something in the loop, like an EQ

Damn, that kinda sucks. My BFG modddd 800 has a great internal volume boost no matter how high the volume. Cheers!

I have never had any issues with a solo volume boost with any of my Splawn amps. I ran the master around 11-12 o clock. I have no complaints about the current spec Splawn amps whatsoever.

I haven't tried the other Splawns, but I've used the StreetRod at every gig with 3 bands for about 3 years now. The Volume Solo boost is UNLIMITED. . I'm confused by the statement above, unless it's limited when using the effects loop as maybe setting it too loud would overload the input on your rack unit in the fx loop? Anyway , I haven't been using the loop as I use all my pedals in front of the amp but the variable SOLO feature is unlimited in volume boost and can get so loud it'll make anyone leave the floor if you wanted to! I love my Quick Rod! I have a 100 watt, and it is definitely one of my favs. It's a great amp, and I think it's very versatile too. I can get mine to sound great for really heavy stuff too.

I have a 50 watt competition. I love it.

What year is your Comp and have you been able to compare to a QR? If so, do you know the year of the QR?

Thx!!
