Great kit from Ceriatone. Lots of fun to put together. I used heyboer iron from amp parts direct!

Nice! How are you liking it? I recently finished a Liverpool kit from Modulus. I'm looking to do an Express now. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna just source all the parts myself, or go with a kit from somewhere.

Love it so far, but I'm already looking at what to build next. I really enjoy to process of putting together an amp. So far it sounds amazing, it's like a tweaked plexi that cleans up incredibly well.

I hear you! I built my first amp 2 years ago. Now I just finished my sixth, and looking to the next one 😂

Killer man. I have a 6.6k output transformer sitting around that I was going to use for a kt66 plexi, but the longer I sit on it the longer I’d like to go for an express type circuit.

So to finish this out as close to diy as possible I have started working on a headshell that is inspired by a trainwreck.... what I have learnt is that cabinetry is some seriously hard stuff

That’s a killer build @endofall. Cabs are way out of my wheelhouse.

I built an Express long ago and then a Rocket and still have the Rocket and love it. After reading between the lines of hogy’s posts on TGP, the Liverpool might be the true flagship of the Trainwreck line. I’d love to build one someday.

Did you have any noise trouble?
I am looking at building this amp, but most on TGP say its a noisy circuit that is hard to get correct?

Any truth to that?

I've read that a lot when preparing to build this. I did not have any problems. I followed the documented layouts fairly close for the biggest parts to ensure that it went as smooth as possible and just took my time with it. I don't find it noisy unless you have the gain turned completely up and then it's still acceptable levels considering what it is.

Awesome, thanks for the reply.
I may just end up going that route.
