First AX8 recording

I posted this up on GAB so I will just link the convo from there below. Feel free to join up over there those guys are pretty awesome.

I guess the only thing I can add or summarize for those who don't go there to read is that it sounds like dogshit through cheap headphones but sounds ok in my car I guess. Nowhere near the level of quality I would like but I did not really do any mixing because I don't know how and the Bass tracks here are complete doo doo and I will be revisiting this.

Just my first test with the AX8. Not amazing but still much better than any results I have had with any amp sims out there and I have tried most of them.

Two tracks.

100% R and 100% L.

I also have 2 Bass Tracks center. One is clean direct into interface and the other is dirty using the same Preset as the guitar tracks. I need to revisit the bass this weekend, someone is going to send me an Ampeg amp Sim for Bass and I was going to check out the Sansamp plugin as well. Was just a really quick job and have not spent any time at all trying to get a bass tone.

Not to be rude but I disagree.

I'll admit it sounds much better than anything I have done with amp sims but I am going to focus on getting a great bass tone over the weekend and maybe that will get me as good as I can without proper mixing.

Not sure if my interface sucks or what but I always see those videos from Fluff and Ola, even the vids where they promise there was no mixing done. Maybe a hi/lo pass or something small but mine do not even sound close to being as good. Not sure what i am missing.

The guitar sometimes gets washed in the mix(listening on iPad mini)as most guitarists would agree, turn the guitar up! Otherwise, the riffage sounds awesome. I know most people on here don't seem to like the heavier stuff, but I do!

Yeah we like what we like. I listen to a lot of different things but mostly metal.

I do plan to turn the guitars up and the snare down a little next time around. I'm really hoping a solid bass tone helps it sound better overall too.
