Stumbled across the set list of my very first gig way back in 87. I remember my first guitar amp set up endeavors. I had a Charvel model 1 plugged into an ibanez sonic distortion into a clean channel of a carvin amp the lead channel didn't work. Our sound reinforcement or better yet defacto make/shift pa was a single microphone through a bass amp. I am pretty sure all the leads were first position pentatonic scales. Any other first gig stories?

When I was 13 I was gigging with some sort of Peavey strat and a Peavey Bandit...

Nice! Mine was Washburn Dime 333/LP Studio and Peavey 212 with a Zoom 1010 and a Phase 100.

August 1, 1992
Charvel Model 5 into a DOD FX75 Flanger and BOSS PS2 as a delay (loosely on floor. What was a pedalboard?), into a snakeskin tolex Randall RG80 1x12 combo.
Spent the whole show with my back to the audience, facing my drummer.
Loved every minute of it!

Mine was around 1997. Custom USA Schecter into a Metal Zone boosted JCM 900 clean channel with matching cab.

We were uber metal lol

I believe my first gigging rig was a Seymour Duncan Convertible amp. I believe my first rack was the entire Rocktron Utopia system. First gigging guitars - Ibanez destroyer Phil Collins model and a Sabre STD. Still have both. :)

around '93...

gibson explorer -> peavey rockmaster -> peavey classic 60 pwr amp -> jenson custom cab (black leather couch looking thing) with 3 v30's.

actually not a terrible sounding rig lol

started gigging around 89/90 with a standard Strat into a ProCo Rat, amp was a Carlsbro Colt 65

gear-wise and especially regarding the amp I do not miss those times

Peavey Road Master head/ Peavey 4x12-Home made Les Paul copy that my Dad made and a bunch of Boss effect pedals.

Marshall 1976 Artiste into traynor 4X12 with 1970 greenbacks....
guitar was a east German strat copy into Tokai fx pedals......ive yet to find a better strat than the east german $100 copy!!!!!!

1975

Sears SG, fuzz pedal, sears solid state amp with tremolo... That thing rocked the corner of the skating rink like a mad.. We played maybe 5 songs? There was a couples skate and possible kiss involved.

Life was good.

Crate G600 head with a kramer striker ST500 using a DOD American metal pedal as my distortion sound.

Mine was a Marshall avt 150 head, behringer cab and ibanez gio lol with emg 81 and 60.

Epiphone G400 --> Boss ME50 --> Marshall MG50dfx. I had an el cheapo used Big Muff too. I had to hit it every once in a while because it crackled and hissed.

my first real gig was new years eve 87 88 we were the first band up and Filty Rocks was the headlining act at Jezebels in Anaheim CA. I had a fawn marshall 2-12 that I had wedged into this giant rack looking thing on wheels and I had a Roland GP8 processor whiwh at the time was cutting edge. I actually sounded good that night. oh yeah and I still have the Charvel Model 5 I used that night.

1994 - I had an Aria Pro II Soloist copy through a Marshall Valvestate Head and cab, with a KORG A4 for effects - it actually sounded pretty decent, and i had channel switching through the A4 \m/

I think my first gig was around 1987. My rig...must've been my trusty old Charvel Model 6 plus some or other backline combo, may well have been a Marshall 5210 or sthing like that. Loved every second of it!
