Ok guys we all know we are all gear fanatics. What was your first guitar and amp. If you have pictures post 'em. I am at work. I will post mine when I get home. As far as my first amp and guitar. I had an Arbor flying v made of plywood and a Marshall 12w Lead. The guitar can be played, but it plays like a piece of shit. My Marshall works great.

Memphis Bass that was just aweful was my first stringed instrument, the amp I forgot the name but just bad.

First guitar was a Kramer Focus 3000 which was not bad at all for a first guitar, real good really. Amp was a Dean Markley which was your basic 80s SS tone, back then it was all I could afford and I was happy with it.

First guitar was an Ibeenhad RG570. I remember I bought it for $350 new from Musician's Friend. First amp was a Marshall MG250DFX. No pics of that.

First electric guitar was one of these;

I wish I still had that guitar now.... :(

First guitar was a cheap jaguar copy, neck was thicker than the body. Still have it in the garage somewhere. I'll have to find it and post a pic just for yucks.

Played that guitar thru my stereo for years until my parents broke down and bought me a friends used Crate CR-110 in the wooden shell for 50 bucks. Still have that amp and play it from time to time. The overdrive channel on it is pretty sweet.

CHarvel CX-391 HSH with crappy floyd
Crate GX-15. it died the first week, but was under warranty.

My first guitar was an Encore Les Paul copy in Black, and i got a Park 10w SS practice amp with it too. Man i loved it and i would take that EVERYWHERE so i could jam!!

Back then.. i never dreamed i would ever be able to afford a real Gibson Les Paul... especially a Custom, which i used to have posters of on my walls. And the coolest part is right now, i have a 1978 LP Custom. So i ended up gettin my dream guitar 12 years later :)

First guitar: Aria acoustic
First electric guitar: Lotus strat copy
First amp: Squire 15

no pictures of any of them :( That was way before digital cameras and before I ever had a scanner

Guitar - An Ibanez - don't remember the model series, I think it was an EX. H/S/H, maple board, sunburst, crappy bridge. I think it cost about $250. Got rid of it after a year and bought a Japanese Jackson Kelly bolt-on that I still have.

Amp - Crate SS, 2 channels, chorus. Distortion channel sounded horrible, so I ended up getting a Korg floor multi-effects board that sounded marginally better.

I have a Kramer Striker 100st. The neck is broken. Somebody on here had a banana hs neck. They were going to give it to me for $100.00, but I can't recall who it was. I was going to start my own VH frankenstein guitar project. Hopefully if he reads this he will chime in. :(

Holy shit, before I got my little Marshall, I use to play through the stereo. I even had one of those curly Radio Shack guitar cables.

my first guitar was an eko acoustic that my dad bought for me. it had a neck that was warped like a banana and made your fingers bleed.  my first electric was a decca that had a neck like a bat.. but it had two switch selectable pups with a really cheap whammy bar. i paid ten bucks for it.
don't really remember what my first amp was. it was either a lunch box head that i got from somewhere really cheap.. or it was a fender dual showman. not sure which came first.
my sister was in a band that used to practice at our house so i'd use thier gear when they weren't around. some of my friends also played ( or were trying to ). thier parents had a silvertone 1484 and a twin reverb. this was back in 1967.. when a farfisa organ and vox amp were also pretty cool things to have.

First Guitar: Sears followed by a Aria Pro II
First Amp: Sunn 1X12 combo.

My first "real" guitar (meaning it wasn't a toy) was a $75 (new) Cort hardtail strat looking thing. I played that into my dads old late '60s Vox Super Beatle head, which is one of the early solid-state amps. I ran that into a Peavey PA speaker that I think had a 12" woofer and horn. I plugged into an Arion Metal Master pedal, then into that "rig."

I could BARELY get the volume loud enough to be heard over the drummer I used to jam with (in his basement.)

Shortly after that, it was obvious that I was going to continue playing guitar and my grandma bought me a brand new white Gibson Les Paul Studio for my 8th grade graduation present. She went to the music store where I took lessons and asked them which guitar I talked about the most, then she bought it without me knowing about it. Wow, what a present!!!

I then moved up to a solid-state Crate head through that same Peavey PA cab. After that, it's kind of a blur. lol...
Do you have any pictures of the time when they handed you that LP ?

1st guitar> National Tele copy. It was sunburst with a Mighty Mite (remember them?) p.u. at the neck, and I had the broken half-volume bridge p.u. taken out.....which made the toggle switch like an on/off switch (which had me doing all kinds of Ace Frehley-ish stutters with that switch!)

1st amp>
What a day! My mom took me to a music store on my birthday to "get a case" for that guitar......and she surprised me by buying me a brand new (in 1980) Fender Champ. I just recently thanked her again for that one.............

My first guitar was an Ibanez GAX which I still have and will probably always keep for that reason. The amp I had was an Ibanez 10 watter. Sounded horrible. I gave it to my little sister. After that Ibanez I moved up to a Crate 65 watter....

First electric was a 1966 Fender Mustang Brand new which I traded for my first decent acoustic a year later which was a 1927 Martin O18-K. Didn't have an amp. I didn't play much electric for a real long time and then I scored a 1959 Gibson Brydland with an old Gibson tweed amp which I foolishly traded for my 72 Les Paul and a Peavy amp. The rest is as they say history.

The first guitar I ever got was some piece of crap I won at a carnival... Terrible guitar, but I definitely had my fingers bleed over that thing because I got the bug bad and played all the time...

The first I ever bought was a Univox Hi-Flyer... First amp was an Acoustic 150 head that I used to use with a Univox Super Fuzz for distortion. I just found out those piece of crap Supper Fuzz pedals go for like $500 now... Amazing as they sound like utter crap... My first good guitar was a 70s Cherry Sunburts Les Paul with mini hums...
