I've been on the hunt for a good delay pedal for years now. On a whim I decided to try the TC Electronic Flashback x4. I am super impressed with this unit. Within five minutes, I was able to dial in the delay sound that I have been chasing for 20 years. I cannot express how elated I am with this pedal.

Signal chain: Fender US Strat with Fat 50s pickups > FBx4 > Marshall 1987x into a Fender Bassman cab.

Congrats. Sounds great.

I still have not found the perfect delay tone for me after all these years. :aww:

I get very close, but never quite there.

I think one of those FBx4's might be the answer. Have a few different settings at my feet.

Sounds great!

I may have to break down and try replacing my DD6 with this.

That is my favorite delay pedal that I've owned. Nice tones

I still really want to check one out. Sold my DL4 to fund one but bills got the best of me.

Just got my new Flashback X4 hooked up today and I love it! I have two regular Flashback's as well, but this X4 is much easier to navigate, adjust, and re-call presets! Excellent product and still NO COLORATION of tone!

Been using one for a while..theyre nice...the looper sounds great too..no tone loss.

Flashbacks are great, either one !

I just wish the X4 had a proper midi implementation :(

Had the same "enigma moment" with my Timeline. Congrats! :)

One question I still have- is there a lag in the footswitch time when using the looper? I read several reviews stating this problem and that would really be a deal breaker for me. It's got to be instantaneous.

I have a regular Flashback and it sounds great. I can't believe how nice it sounds. I also have a Timeline for its Midi capabilities so I won't be needing a FB X4.

I love my flashback X4 and I don't notice a lag with the footswitch in the looper mode.

Have you guys played with the toneprint editor with this yet? Just wondered how well it worked at tweaking the tones.

I've had one for a couple of months. It is a great pedal. Sadly though, due to it's size, I couldn't make it work on my pedalboard. Great sounds out of it! Make sure you update the firmware.....I had lost my presets several times until I did that.

Yeah the X4 is perfect. Plus I'm blind so it's easy to see.

There is a Peter Thorn toneprint for the flashback X4, check it out, its pretty cool.

The Timeline is tits, it can do anything the Flashback can plus a lot more. Me though, I got another El Cap for out front because modulation just sounds better to me into the input of the amp, and for clean I like it out front. I need another delay for my loop now and not sure where to go. The thing with the Timeline is I'm not sure I need all it's power for my loop since I won't use modulation from the loop, and the $400 used prices are still steep. But I got a Mobius and it totally killed my pedal gas and needs for any other modulation pedals, so I should just get the Timeline and be done with it. :D For the price though the Flashbackx4 is a pretty good option.
