Do you really need 100% dive? not the most musical thing in the world. I would just have it installed and dont worry about it.
I thought the same.mniel8195":3nkeoa3i said:Do you really need 100% dive? not the most musical thing in the world. I would just have it installed and dont worry about it.

If you have a 42mm block then i can see where that might cause issues.. But no issues whatsoever with my 37mm block.
FWIW i chose the 37mm block because i knew for sure that the spring cavity plate would still fit back on. I have to keep the cavity cover on because when i play standing up, i have my strap set up where my belt buckle would be pushing right against the springs and cause issues.
42mm works and doesn't stick out the back. Bigger is better.MrDan666":s6tkrmvo said:I have a 37mm Brass Block on my MIJ SoCal Floyd and i can dive bomb to the point where the strings are so slack they literally stand out 3 inches off the board.

They are the same size as far as I can remember. The OCD in me likes the ones from Chub because of the Floyd logo.metalmaniac93":97p00c5u said:Erock":97p00c5u said:Is it an "L" block? I've upgraded all my MIJ Socals with the regular brass blocks, but they are setup slightly raised to float. I had no problems with clearance using the 37mm blocks. The only way mine will hit the cavity is if I'm trying to pull back on the bar too far. It's still got some pull back range though, plenty for my uses. I can bottom out the trem bar on a dive without hittin the cavity. The blocks I have are the same size as the blocks from Chub, one is actually from him. I did find the 42mm block will impede some movement on the dives, but it's still not a factor for my uses.
Mine is the regular 37mm block from Floydupgrades although I did buy one from Chubs last week to have installed in my USA Charvel Pointy (2005 Reissue). Are the ones from Chub a different thickness then the ones at Floydupgrades.com?
