Floyd big brass block thoughts?

I have had success with these in one guitar, but every other guitar I have tried to put one in, sounds and feels way too linear and it loses some life… It’s hard to explain but it almost feels like I’ve got a slight compressor in the signal chain…
Yes, there is more bass and more sustained but less chirp and life.
Just wondered what everyone else thought of these things…

I would agree with your assessment though I like this result.

Its a different flavor, whether it is better is pretty variable and subjective.

Agreed. IMO,some will love it right away and others will be so used to the way it sounded before that the change won't sit well for them.
 
Only time I've used them is if a guitar is "thin" sounding or not very resonant. The block upgrade always helps out. Turned a great playing 88 Jackson strat into a nicely resonant axe. Night and day difference.
