Removing floyd rose fine tuners???
Do I need a dremmel?? Trying to replace with new brass ones on a 1000 series. Old ones will not come out. Any help is appreciated!

Don't they have a C-clip holding them in from the bottom?

The last thread is ‘dinged’ so it stops, on the Korean made Floyds. I removed one on a Charvel Pro Mod OEM Floyd to smooth the bottom (it wasn’t sitting consistently on a D Tuna) and had to use a pair of pliers and wrapped the tuner in cloth to turn through the ‘ding.’ After putting it back in, I used diagonal cutters the re-ding the thread.

This. Try adding a little grease or oil to the thread before backing it out to keep them from getting all bitched up. Back out slowly.

Good to know. Just got a SC1 with a 1000FR.
Will probably replace parts with FU brass like was on my Satchel.

While on the subject, my screw in trem bar keeps backing itself off with energetic use.
The bar gets looser than i like.
Any way to keep it from happening? Teflon tape? lock-tite?

The C clips must be for the Ibanez Edge. I remember removing a set with the clips at some point.

Regarding the trem bar... I just replaced 1000 series bar ( collar bar ) to am old style bar. FR sells them. Total difference. Tight, smooth, and quite. Those collar 1000 bar assemblies suck.

Thanks, looking it up now.

Btw, FR has two options of bar assemblies.
I just happened to choose the old style but the other one they have is also supposed to be very good!

I replaced the screw on version with the push in version and am much happier. The screw on version always loosened up. I still have one on my Adrian Smith sig and it annoys the hell out of me.

It’s called “peening” the thread to prevent removal.

its MIM with the cheap ass FR pro. Upgraded the saddles and bar, and it's 100% stable now. Next will be the block.
