When I have all the strings off the guitar, the floyd rose pivot edges pop up out of the corner of the pivot screws. In other words, they ride up the post since there's no string tension holding it back down. I dont recall any of my other FR bridge guitars doing this when I change strings..

Does this happen to you guys? Is it normal?

If I put less spring tension on the back of the bridge then it doesnt hold it down flush against the body when the strings are tuned and at nominal tension..

will this ruin my pivot edges on my floyd rose bridge because it keeps rubbing up and down everytime i change strings?

Yes it's normal on guitars where the floyd floats. If I take all the strings off, I usually just put something under the back of the floyd to stop it pulling backwards. Makes it easier to get it back balanced too..

You don't need a fancy 'tool' for it, just use something that won't scratch the top of the guitar. I don't have many recessed floyds but I seem to recall a AA battery does the job quite nicely on those..

I usually never take all the strings off unless I'm working on it.

I just stick a magazine under the edge to keep it close to level.

Does anyone have experience with the FU2 tremelo ? Comparible to a MIG Floyd ??

I change the strings one at a time. only time all the strings come off at once if it is at the tech for a set up, he probably takes them all off at once, but I never do.

The best and safest to keep Floyds flat

Great idea
I use a chop stick wrapped in a polishing towel.
But the eraser is going to get used from now on.

I don't understand how you guys only change one at a time. Don't you like to clean and maybe oil your fingerboard up when changing strings?

I stick a stack of picks or whatever else I can find to keep the trem level.

I either remove the Floyd or use something to hold it up as posted. What you are seeing is normal.
