Hey guys, I want to install a Floyd Rose on a standard strat. Want it floating on top (not recessed). This part is pretty easy my problem is not there. I measured the height what the string will be after installation and I will not be able to have my action low as I like if the trem is not sitting on the body. Some told me to shim the neck wich is pretty easy too but here is my point. If I shim the neck enough, the height of the joint become pretty thick and I don't have long fingers and big hands. I heard that some shim the neck with an angle so the neck is tilted a bit so that help to have the action low and to not thicker too much the joint. If I do that, do I have to do something to the fret level to make sure that the action is ok ? Can you give me some clue or other option?
Thanks
