I'm thinking of sticking one of these in my KG Prime. Which should I be looking at? The 32 mm, the 37 mm, or the 42 mm?

What are some experiences you guys have had with Brass Big Blocks?

Is the L shaped sustain block worth the extra money?

Has anyone tried the Brass Spring Claw?

measure your block from the bottom of the base plate, to the bottom of the block, and then you will know what size to order

Careful with the L shaped blocks, my newest gat came with one and it hits the wood when pulling up on the bar.

well i just ordered one i been hearing so much about it 50 bucks sounds really worth it

Mine is 27 mm. That seems kinda small?

I added one to mine.. made a HUGE improvment on the tone.
just adds a lot more sustain to the notes. ( 42 mm) .

I'm going to get one for my normal strat as well..(standard )..

I almost bought a Jackson on ebay that had one, but the jack-plate had to be removed because it was so big. I really like the sound of my Jackson, but I didn't want to have to remove the back plate, so I didn't look into it. Now I'm curious.

All my Suhrs, Hamers, LAG, and Vigiers have them. Tremel-no too. Makes a big difference in every guitar.

It won't hit the back plate if you get the correct size.

Interesting thread - I just saw these in a rag I picked up as of late and was wondering if it was just a gimmick or if there was some validity to their claims... The titanium one seemed outrageously priced for a block of Ti, so I said if ever, I'd just go with the brass.

After reading this, seems I'll take the plunge...

Peace,
V.

I think it is a great tone improvement. Here is a couple pics with it installed in my usa jackson. Also have the floydupgrades.com stopper. Shit works great

Think im gonna order more soon for my other floyd and for my edge. they seem to have put up cheaper international postage options recently, used to be as much for shippin as for the block

some dude had a shoot out on here a while back ay?

I can't offer an opinion about a Floyd as I don't have a Guitar equipped with one, but I got the KGC extra mass brass block for my Strat and it was worth every penny. Really made a huge improvement with sustain and the overall sound of the instrument.

Considering tone "improvement" is entirely subjective, what would you say changed with the addition of a brass block? I'm considering doing this with my KV2. I'll have to measure when I get home to find out which to order.

I also think it's really funny that the last 3 threads I've contributed in concern things we are both involved in. I told you that the Hydra would make you sell your Cobra. I wish you would have waited until you got it to prove how much the Hydra would bury it.
