Fly Rig: Pedalboard or Line HD500x or ?? what do you use

I am asking as for ease of use and travel...
I have a pedalboard I can carry on... and could buy a "MIAB pedal" in case I end up with somehting other than a marshall or Boogie.

My other was get a Line 6 HD500x... program sound and go...???

What are you doing?

I'd rather the pedal board. The POD HD sounds are underwhelming to me.

I have a PODHD500 and I use it as my gigging and travel board. I also paired it with an electro harmonix 44 magnum power amp pedal so no matter where i go all I need is either to bring my own cab or use either backlined cabs or amps. Super simple for setups. I think the PODHD has very usable tones especially if you disable the cab sims and use an actual cab. I had started putting together a small gigging pedal board but realized that for the price of a bunch of pedals and power I could just get the POD and then have tons of tones, with presets, and looper, and direct use, and still get the usable live tones.

I use one of the cheap plastic Boss three (3) pedal powered boards.

Keeley Baked TS-9, TU-2, DD-5 and carry on the bag with a Bogner Red and CE-5. With the daisy chain I can power the two pedals on the sides. A couple cables and I'm good. It's small and fits in my carry-on bag. ALWAYS carry on.

Kills with any backline. Simple. Always works.

One of these. I have a couple with different combinations.

I did Montreux last year, and Ian Anderson's guitarist was using an HD500 into a backline Twin, and it sounded awesome. That was the first time I'd ever looked at it seriously.

That tuner's sad, man. If you can spend the scratch on a Zen Drive and a Bogner pedal, surely you can score a Peterson Strobostomp Classic or even iStrobosoft if you have an iphone?

Haha. Yeah I didn't use that. I always have a good pedal tuner.
