Hey guys. I posted recently about ditching my YJM Fury pickups in my '72 Reissue Strat, for some Hotrails N/B and a JB Jr Middle.

I'm a little worried I'd loose that "strat quack" from the split positions 2 and 4. I use the split positions for alot of clean rhythm parts in the session work I do, and I'm worried I'd lose it with this set up.

Would some hot Reverse Polarity Middle single coil maybe be more suitable that the JB Jr? Like a HS-3 RWRP or something?

Basically what I need is:

Position 1: Bridge hot rail
Position 2: Bridge hot rail split with single coil middle pickup for quack/sparkle
Position 3: Middle pickup
Position 4: Neck hot rail split with single coil middle pickup for Stevie Ray style stuff
Position 5: Neck hot rail

I have both hotrails, so I'm ready to buy something for the middle.

I actually ditched the Hot Rails N&B from my Kramer SM-1, because they were too hot and dark/smooth; not single-coily at all.
You know what actually sounds awesome for middle, even in humbucking mode, and then positions 2 and 4 for the split positions? Dimarzio FT-1!

But otherwise, middle pickup...perhaps a Duncan Custom Stack Plus? I'm considering that one for a H-S guitar, to do the Lynch/Martini/LaRocque neck thing.
