A Roland SDE 1000 delay rack unit! I've got a W/D/W going with my Wizard MCI, using the line out of the Wizard into the Roland and out to a stereo Boss Chorus pedal and both outs into each side of an HH M900. Each stereo cab is a Marshall GB cab, one 90s B cab with 6402 cones and the other a 76 Marshall A cab with RIC cones. Dry cab is an 83 with 65s. The chorus pedal works great for splitting the signal, no hum or signal loss that I can tell. Had the damn thing since the late 80s and I don't think I've plugged in since then lol.
The Roland adds a really nice color to the sound, quite a contrast to my Intellifex that is very transparent. Almost has a slight gain to it when engaged but in a pleasant way. I've got it set to a 26ms delay, with a heavy chorus to it that is a total 80s wet thing, almost Stryper or King Kobra like. Lol. Very warm. Gonna look for another to make it a true stereo effect as these old early 80s units are mono.

Those 65's are killer.. I regret ever selling my cab that had them.
Sounds like a fun rig....

My fav speaker, every amp I've had from Marshall to Mesa sounds great through them. The new Heritages are a spot on remake of the early 80s versions. The late 70s Marshall labeled 65s are a good bit brighter.

Cool! Where did you find a SDE 1000 for $50 bucks, don't those still command a premium on the used market? That's the SDE that EVH used live for the 5150 and later tours correct? They are supposed to be excellent delays.

Cool rig. When did you get the Wizard? Ya snuck one by us as I don't remember a NAD from you...

I believe EVH uses the SDE 3000, but from what I gathered on the net the 1000 has the same tonal qualities but with less delay time and other bells/whistles than the 3000. I found it on Craigslist in Mpls. They seem to fetch 1-200 from what I've seen. All the SDE delays are mono, no midi. Old school lol..but with a warmth that you can find only on this series or the Lexicon PCM 40/41.
Had the Wizard for a month or so...it's a MCI with updates, so silent channel switching and bright knob to match the clean with the lead channel. Just amazing...think JCM 800 with the biggest girth/tonal footprint ever and takes a boost just as well. Best amp I've ever owned, regarding clarity/bloom/power/killing small animals. Lol
It's 100w my ass. Feels more like 200w. I haven't posted pics since RT stopped accepting them from my phone.

Try a pair of 3000s, thank me later. And dial in the modulation right from the delays instead of the pedal. You’ll need a Y cable or simple splitter box to feed both delays. I have 2 1000s and the 3000s really are that much better.
