Not meant to start a digital vs analog fight or anything like that. I got the Source Audio Kingmaker recently and decided to see how well it could cop some tones from my favorite Fuzzes and OD's. Started with the Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe. Have a few more pedals to do. To be clear, the Kingmaker is an all digital multi-engine drive pedal that can be incorporated into a midi rig and can store presets. You can also use your smart phone, tablet or computer for deep dive parameter editing. The Scarab is a standard analog (a VERY NICE ONE) fuzz.

This isn't about which is better, but more of a "Can the Kingmaker really sound like..."

I am sure folks will dig one or the other for their own reasons and that's cool. You may think both sounds SUCK! LOL! Like the title says, this was in good fun... mostly! It was also to see if I could accomplish my goals of reducing the amount of pedals I am using live. There are definitely some slight differences in the two tones here but nothing that can't get ironed out with a few more tweaks in the Source Audio Hub Manager or Neuro app. Did this all on a lunch break using the Hub Manager to tweak the Kingmaker.

So, here you go and have at it! The skin is thick with this one!

Would love to hear everyones thoughts. Can you guess which is which?

So in the interest of potentially "wetting a few whistles" on the Source Audio Kingmaker, it is a pedal with 3 built in fuzz sounds BUT you can load any of the 24+ pedal engines on it including RAT, OCD, TS9, Clean boost, Muff, Fuzz Face, Klon, etc. and then burn those to the 3 spots on the pedal. You can do this with the LA Lady pedal as well.

For the price you can't beat it. You can hear from the vid, regardless of whether or not fuzz is your thing it can easily clear up valuable real estate on your board as well as (apparently) do a damn convincing job copying your favorite pedal settings. For the price of this guy, especially from the online retailers that always offer 15-20% off, you can't beat it.
