Run through of a new amp from Vader called the Carnivore....dude talks for 3:30 and then opens the Lead channel up......Clean and Crunch are ok, but the Lead? Damn.

 
it has GOT to sound better than that clip does. my madison prophecy sounded better than that. and i have been waiting for this vader amp for a while now, so i am kinda bummed.
 
I liked what he had to say and the design is good. I like the 2 gain channels being the same with available modes for each. Tone isn't completely awful, I have heard many amps sound way worse, but it isn't great either. Overall, can't judge much by this. As always, gotta try one to really know.

Rob was telling me that the Vader guys brought it out to a Goatwhore show and he got to mess around with it and it sounded killer thru a Randall XXL cab. He's not sure how much it's been tweaked since then, but he loved it so maybe it sounds a lot better in person.
 
It always worries me when the designer of an amp like that can talk so passionately about a product... and then be ok with posting a clip that sounds like THAT... I don't care what amp it is... who the maker was... or ANY of that... THAT clip sounds like complete shit...

It's one thing when an amp demo get's posted by someone who isn't associated with the company at all... and they have the amp dialed in to sound awful... that is a misrepresentation of that product, and no fault of the company...

...but COME ON .... when the COMPANY not to mention the DESIGNER for crying out loud is ok with posting a clip like that :confused: ... it's 2012... your video doesn't even have HD quality... and it sounds like THAT?

More than enough to make myself, and I'd be willing to bet a LOT of people not give that amp a second thought....

Maybe he just had the mic placement bad or a shit cab? I would love to hear a pro recording of the amp. In the clip is just sounds like a fuzz pedal. :aww:

Your just being nice.... I am a HUGE fan of your playing and recording skills... you take the time to make amps that you didn't even make, or sometimes don't even own sound incredible... if YOU yourself designed an amp... put TONS of time into actually BUILDING it... would you not keep a level of near OCD and perfection when making clips of your finished product?

....completely inexcusable IMO.
 
Yeah ya got me. I was just trying to be nice. Steinmetzify is a super cool dude so I felt kind of like a douche about not liking the clip. :aww:

LMAO Fluff......I don't own the company, brother.....FWIW I didn't think it sounded that great either, but a bro of mine that I trust about gear has played it and just sent me that clip to get an idea of what it sounds like......said it slayed in person.

One of those things I'd have to try before I buy.
 
rridner (the guy who sent stenz and i the info) is one of my bestest bros. he loves the brutal tones. he is the one who had me watching for this amp in the first place.

i really hope to hear it better in person. i have been waiting to see what happens with this amp since vader announced it.
 
That sounds awful, and exactly what I expected from Vader.
 
Sorry, sounds like a Sennheiser E906 that was poorly placed too close to the speaker of a cab to me. I'd have to be in the room.

Don't know anything about the company but why did you expect this from Vader, just wondering?
 
I was dissapointed with the cabs I really wanted to like em since all the hype they got back awhile ago. Man it is really hard to judge an amp from clips with out you being behind the controls to make it your own.

I learned this the hard way so many amps ran through this man cave... but what I have learned that tone is in the eye of the beholder and we each have our own prefences... I do agree though this clip is not that great and hope it sounds tons better in person.
 
I hear potential for sure. the clip is a bad recording, I mean its fuzzing out everywhere and crackling. static. obviously not a good recording and or compression.

i bet the amp sounds much better
