NK would be my #1.

Reason being i really want to see what goes on there. How brain washed they are towards outsiders.
I read they have Wonderful museums.
Id like to see military drill with that stupid red star flag waving

Theres basically no night life. id like to walk around with a bottle of Jim Beam and talk to the commie ladies.

I want to take a picture aboard the
USS Pueblo. Technically id like to sink on them it but then I'll never come home.

Then the visit the Ruskies for basically the same reasons
I read Russia has way better night life and culinary. Id drink their vodka.

After that id go to Greenland and hang old glory outside my hotel room

Then Cuba. Would be like an all day car show.
55 chevys and 49 Oldsmobiles to look at

Eat some paella and drink Cuban rum and smoke their cigars with a nice nasty drunk senorita to keep me busy

What do you all have for me

NK? Nope. There’s nothing (that I know of) to make me want to visit. I’ve been to South Korea 11 times. I’m sure it’s similar, if not less developed and more depressing 😀. I’ve been to China 14 times - some really cool things to see. Probably going back in March with a stop in India (ugh - no desire, just a requirement…). I’d love to go to Australia. It’s not a safety issue, just a time and monetary consideration since my employer wouldn’t be footing the bill. I would also like to see Costa Rica.

Lots of history. Looks interesting. Would be cool to explore. Just wouldn’t want to put myself in a position where someone could slip a thumb drive into my backpack so the KGB can put me in a Siberian Gulag for years. 🤷
Yeah, that's my hesitation as well.

Not to expose too much, but that happened to the “corporate security” person for the company I work for. You may have read about him… Everything about his story was sketchy AF…

I've been a Russophile since I was a teenager. Especially pre-soviet and more specifically the Romanov dynasty. A lot of the historical events I've studied and read about happened there. I would LOVE to be able to see the things I've read about. It would take an extraordinary security detail for me to step foot in Russia so I suspect I never will see it. I really like to go and see the places I've read about. The Little Bighorn battlefield was surreal. Vienna, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin were fantastic. To a lesser extent ( From a historical perspective) Amsterdam was great. Den Haag ( The Hague) was great.

Anyway my two biggest bucket list destinations have always been St.Petersburg and Pitcairn and I doubt I ever see either.

Eritrea looks really interesting. Extremely high in elevation, strange ethnic makeup, has a Christian Totalitarian government that seems to be arranged around keeping globohomo out. Very difficult country to get into from what I've read. The Christianity is a mix of Coptic and Catholicism with very high adherence. I think they take Christianity much more seriously there than anyplace in the West.

Papua New Guinea is very weird too and still unexplored. Considerably dangerous, still has lots of pirates, uncontacted tribes that probably still conduct cannibalism.

I'd love to go to China too but it doesn't seem very dangerous.

I think China would be a pretty cool place to visit. They have a rich pre-communism history that I think would be neat to check out.
There's a family mystery concerning China:
(Hope I'm not repeating myself)
My nephew went there about 20 years ago to train Chinese for his company's operations. A month turned into 6. Then a year, and another year and now it's been over 20, he never came home. He still communicates with his dad from time to time and is happy there. His wife finally divorced him. He must have found life very enjoyable there but none of us know why.
