I have zero problem with the US sending money or whatever to other countries for legitimate foreign aid. But we need to make sure our own country is in order first. We've had 3 major disasters over the last two years. Our gov't needs to make sure those people have proper aid and are getting back on their feet before sending billions overseas.

Small scale concept; you can't be sending half your paycheck to charities when you don't even have enough to keep your own lights on and put food on your own table.

I'm well aware that the gov't/Biden administration had other plans for all that money sent to Ukraine. Even not counting that it was irresponsible to send all those billions out of the country when the US can barely keep the utilities on, let alone have some rainy day money set aside. Lord knows we could use an emergency fund right about now.

Looking forward to the next 4 years with fingers crossed that things will change for the better. Hopefully they will understand the concept of get your own stuff in order first before sending money you can't spare to foreign aid. Set us up to be in a better position to actually give aid without being a detriment to our own.

One thing is for sure the US needs to implement a balanced budget and stick to it without going into deficit all the time. The US Government needs to live within their means. If they don't they'll screw the whole world when the default comes and they can't service their debt. I think everyone knows this.

You mean when the default comes and they can no longer hand out billions of dollars in aid to countries that apparently can’t survive without the US paying their way.

Being a developed nation, we don't get anything from the US, still have a foreign aid budget including to Ukraine yet we make an effort to balance the federal budget. I actually used to do Long Term Financial Plans and did the budget for Local Government. All levels of Government should be sticking to their budgets. It's the same in Companies. I've done the budgets for them too. It's not fucking rocket science. Otherwise, it's just mismanagement and incompetence. I don't understand how the US federal government gets away with it, runs out of money and raises the "debt ceiling". It's got to stop.

Oh I agree.

We are going to finish the wall, and Australia is going to pay for it.
We are going to invade Greenland before Trump gets to it. Our fleet of Wombat 2000 submersibles are on route as we speak armed with Quokka 7 ballistic missiles and rendered invisible by the Numbat sonar cloaking system.

That's not to mention the arsenal of funnel webs that'll be unleashed, eating the population and starving once it runs out of food.

Ripe for the plucking, so to speak...

Too bad those forces would freeze to death when they hit the shores of Greenland.
