Does anyone know what the mini toggle switches under the master, gain1, and gain 2 do? I assume that they are different value bright cap switches.

Yup you are correct.

Do you know what the values of the caps are and if they are 3 way toggle switches?

Most definitely 3 way toggles but I have no idea of the values.

Some cali mods have different values as well, Mike used what he thought I wanted.

I thought the switch on the Master(s) was a saturation or gain style/level switch?

Thing about one of Mike's mods is that nothing is standard, even on a Cali mod. He's going to build it and voice it the way you want it. For certain, one of the toggles, which is likely foot switchable is going to go from high gain to higher gain, adding the 4th preamp tube to the signal. I only had this toggle installed on my mod, just for simplicity. The other one or two toggles will likely be EQ shifting of some sort which will darken or brown to brighten up the signal. It will be top quality work and not some hack job either. Having an amp built by Mike is always and enjoyable experience, as he includes you, the customer through the complete process. Ask him a simple question, receive a couple paragraphs of explanation - not a simple one line answer. Jerry P is much the same and takes time to answer completely. Unlike, some of the others who keep you in the mushroom mode.

The switch under the Master is the Saturation switch and it changes the level of clipping. Center position is no clipping, left position is extreme clipping (more gainy and saturated) and the right position is slightly less clipping which sounds a bit more rawer and open/more dynamic.

Under the Gain pots, you have bright switches. I'm not discussing the values but the way they work is center position is no cap, left position is a larger cap (gainier and fuller sounding) and right position is a smaller cap (less gainy and slighty thinner sounding). The bright caps have less of an effect the higher you set the gain pot. When the pot is on 10, the caps are out of the circuit and the switch has no effect.

Hope this helps! PM me if you have any other questions about the Cali Mod.

Uh oh. Clipping is Jose style and we all know that it sounds buzzy and like shit. Nobody likes the Paco taco mods anymore.

I have a bone stock 78 Super Bass in the cave headed out to Dan Gower next month. No Taco, Nacho, or Burrito mods from the UK. This will be the Fish & Chips Mod.....

Drills are a waste of time Mike, i much prefer using a heavy duty office hole punch. If that doesn't work, i'll just hammer a nail through the chassis and then enlarge the hole with pliers...
