Mike builds bulletproof amplifiers,
They work, they sound and feel phenomenal!!
For what you're looking for, get the Killer Kali++
Absolutely stunning heavy, tight tone!
I had a feeling the Killer Kali++ was gonna get some love. All of the modded Fortin stuff sounds great. Even on Youtube. I'm playing through a Peters FSM/Halo right now. I love that amp, but I need some new flavor.
Fortin stuff is great, if cost is no object then Fortin all the way. If you go Ceriatone I'd change the Iron, had a bad experience with a modded Ceriatone once. Sounded better with a cheapo classic tone PT. But for pure tone I'd save for the Fortin.
The Chupa is not what I would call "heavy." It's angry and pissed off. But it isn't a modern "heavy" high-gain type of thing. And it isn't tight. It has some bounce.
I had a Bones and didn't like it at all. It is dark and smooth and "round" sounding. And it couldn't get that raw snarl I like. The Chupa is snarly and has a growl. The Bones is a "rock" amp.
I never heard this one. Wow, this is amazing. Kevin Talley is obviously a beast but these guys together are just great.
Such a good song. IMO the only thing odd to me (not a bad thing) is that it was kind of all over the place strcture wise but that just shows how sick Kevin really is on the drums.
That amp also sounds amazing. I would go with that one
What can you guys tell me about the KK++ mod? Does this have to be done to a specific amp or cab he make any decent amp sound like this?
I have a Fortin mod JVM. Its pretty badass. I am using an FX8 and switching all functions on the JVM with midi. If you need versatility and some different tones on the fly (CLN green to OD orange) with one tap, its hard to beat.
