I don't know about the Fortins as much as the Camerons. Mark voices them under power and with an "H" speaker magnet. This is when you can really see the amp as it was intended. He voices the amps to have this presence and punch when the power tubes compress under some power and volume. It's more like you get hit with some jabs and then a right cross or upercut comes out of nowhere and you're like  Buy you go back for more. There is also a grind in the mids that are part of his tone I do not hear with other amps. It does remind me of the Bogner mids. More like a cross between the lower mids of the Bogner and something else. Not sure what though. Not really Marshall high mids to my ears. Another something I have found with the Camerons I have played is that the feedback is much easier to control than with other high gainers I have had. I no longer use my ISP. I can control it with my left and right hand. The CCV has a tight low end and is authoritative.
I love the marshall mids and cut and like my tone fairly bright(not shrill) but for cut and it sounds like CCV does that. The Marsha sounds really good in the clips and though thick as hell sounds like it could be a tad compressed. Ivr never played one though could be way off
The Marsha isn't compressed at all. In fact they're very open sounding. It's also a killer amp for sure. It sounds like a great Marshall. The CCV has a slightly lower mid but not as low as the Bogners. The mids still cut like a knife though. In fact I just A/B'd the CCV to my BFG modded JMP and the mids aren't that far off. It does have a certain sizzle that's not found in Marshalls.

Man, I gotta quit all this CCV talk. I'm starting to sound like a fanboi and I didn't even drink the Kool-aid.   To be honest though, in the end they're all just amps. ;)

Its just an amp. Thats a good sig. I use this line myself but its at odd times like when I am trying to calm down or something weird like that. You and I have used it in the past when talking. I have heard it used in this context from others. What does this really mean. Driving a 500 horsepower car and just shrugging it off as just a car. Hey, my Wife is just a Woman. Sex is just sex. I need a drink.

sounds interesting... I had an uber in the past and thought it was way to dark for my tastes. I guess my point being that i did not like bogner's mids are voicing. There is something you mention as far as that sizzle i hear in the ccv clips that i really like. Sounds like it would cut very well

It does and to me that sizzle is part of the Plexi tone. ;)

I just started running two amps at shows. I bought Radial "Bigshot ab-y" and everything is working great! I did have to put a "buffer" pedal (I use a tube screamer already on my board) in front of the "Bigshot" to fix a small issue. But other than that it works flawlessly. It is not midi, but that's not too much of an issue. I had ground loops and phasing issues before I bought this unit. It's only $80.
Thanks but its got to be midi because im switching multiple functions at once
