FORTIN or CAMERON HELP? HELP? HELP?

A cheap solution:

Keep The Bones and get yourself a Digitech Rp1000.

Hook it up with the 4 cable method and now you have the Bones for gain and the RP1000 for any cleans or other tone that you want to add.

I just started running two amps at shows. I bought Radial "Bigshot ab-y" and everything is working great! I did have to put a "buffer" pedal (I use a tube screamer already on my board) in front of the "Bigshot" to fix a small issue. But other than that it works flawlessly. It is not midi, but that's not too much of an issue. I had ground loops and phasing issues before I bought this unit. It's only $80.

IMHO....for me...the CCV has more of both.

I prefer the Bones to the Fortin mods I've tried, but definitely prefer the CCV over the Bones, for my style.

Like Scott said, I can see someone liking either over the other, depending on how they set the amps and what they want to feel/hear.

You really need to try them yourself.
Thats the problem, i live in a very small town and im prob FAR away from anyone that even owns one

Then I'd stick with the Bones, and figure out something else.....especially if you'd have to sell it to try the CCV.

These are both killer amps, and for one,I love how Josh sets the CCV up compare to most of the clips on here, makes it a different a amp and really a nice feel and easy to play,But I I love my bones and will NOT part with it,and with the extra goodies on mine makes it super versatile as well, they both sound killer and having them in the same room is

Agreed. His clips always sounded good.

The other thing about Jason's amp, is that it has a raw (?) switch...without that, I wouldn't like the amp NEARLY as much. His Bones is loaded up...should be called the "Flesh and Bones" :D

Yes! Are there any current Bones clips? I would love to see a walk through vid of the Bones. How heavy can it get?

Yeah mine has the raw switch as well. I do need to do a video of the bones and it can get VERY heavy. Heavy enough for any kind of music and though its not really designed for that it would be no problem.

Now a Cameron modded Fortin would be killer or was it a Fortin modded Cameron :D

I don't know about the Fortins as much as the Camerons. Mark voices them under power and with an "H" speaker magnet. This is when you can really see the amp as it was intended. He voices the amps to have this presence and punch when the power tubes compress under some power and volume. It's more like you get hit with some jabs and then a right cross or upercut comes out of nowhere and you're like  Buy you go back for more. There is also a grind in the mids that are part of his tone I do not hear with other amps. It does remind me of the Bogner mids. More like a cross between the lower mids of the Bogner and something else. Not sure what though. Not really Marshall high mids to my ears. Another something I have found with the Camerons I have played is that the feedback is much easier to control than with other high gainers I have had. I no longer use my ISP. I can control it with my left and right hand. The CCV has a tight low end and is authoritative.

I love the marshall mids and cut and like my tone fairly bright(not shrill) but for cut and it sounds like CCV does that. The Marsha sounds really good in the clips and though thick as hell sounds like it could be a tad compressed. Ivr never played one though could be way off
