Been awhile since i've posted on this forum regularly, but when I did there were tons of Fortin modded Marshalls floating about. I can't seem to find much about them now on here or in the classifieds. Did they lose popularity or did he just stop doing the mods or something else?

I still have an awesome Cali modded 1987 from Mike. Just curious if the love for these mods died. Thanks.

I think he got out of the "mod" business once his own designs took off.

I've heard he may be doing mods again...in fact he said in an email to me a month or so ago that he might be able to take another amp on in August. So get in touch with him through email on his website and he'll get back to you right away. Great guy to work with!

Dan Gower seems to be the guy to go to for the Kali mods since Mike left the scene

Dan Gowers mods are incredible, easily some of the best out there, hands down!

I actually much preffered the Gower Kali I had over the Fortin Kali I had.

good to see there's still some love for the Fortin amps out there!

Gower is the way to go since I heard Mike is busy to do a bunch of mods!!

I would love a KK but I do have a Fortin mod JVM which is pretty damn cool.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my custom Bones mod 50 watt JCM 800!!!

Hey bhuard75 some clips of your Killer Kali++ would be awesome . I would have posted this in your members classified post if I could .

I think a lot of the guys who have them are keeping them. As far as Mikes vs Dans mods go, I think there has been a bit of an evolution taking place with both of them as they find slight changes that people like as they do more and more of them. "better" is probably more of a result of when the mod was done, and Dan is probably more focused on mod work at the moment with Mike having his plate more than full for quite awhile now. He has not quit doing mods as far as I know, but having time to put them out is a challenge. He does put the mod thing on hold at times so he dosent have to explain the whole thing 50 times a day and have a bunch of internet drama to contend with. He's done some Marshalls for me that I will never part with.. ever :D
From all the clips I've heard of Dans work, I dont think you can go wrong with either one.

what is this? Please explain.

It began life as a JCM800... Not much of that left, as far as I know just the original Drake transformers remain. It's got the Bones circuit and a pull push gain knob, footswitchable gain boost, and footswitchable dual masters with a fx loop.
