Anyone else miss the days when everybody used to join in and participate in the big forum jams? I know I do!

Would you guys be up for doing forum jams once again? Would be awesome to make it a regular thing again!

Definitely. We used to do this on another board I visit and sadly the same thing happened...dried up.

I've participated in a few on a Norwegian forum and it was waaay fun. So count me in! :)

I'm always interested in inet jams
I see a lot of people interested here, but is the OP volunteering to head up this project, or just encourage someone else to start it up? Either way it's a great idea!

My signature video is a forum jam as-is this tune:
https://soundcloud.com/crankyrayhanky/jam-city-9-12-12

Each of these sessions I posted at several forums, including this one....but while other sites were bubbling with energy I received 0 interest here :dunno:
Kind of a letdown, because there's a lot of talent on this site...I'll have another project started in the next week or so....

Maybe the video element scares people away? Any smartphone will work; 99% of the work is done on my end sync'ing- audio video editing

This is where I'm at too. I'd like to participate, but all I have in terms or recording equipment is GarageBand!

I was thinking of something where everyone records a solo and then all the solos get put into one big long jam.. like the James Lugo forum jam that happened a while ago. Always good fun and it's great to hear everyone's individual take over a backing track.

I'm no expert when it comes to recording, so i don't know how to piece all the solos together and deal with all that stuff. Maybe someone who has the knowledge to do that stuff could help out and take care of that?

No way I'm getting involved in that. I've had solos I've submitted not get lined up right and end up sounding like crap. I've had them mixed so poorly with the track that they sounded horrible. If someone puts up a backing track and we all do our individual takes on it, I'm up for that, but these compilations of a dozen solos never turn out well IMO...
