Put some $ down on a Jan 1970 Superlead. 100 watts, original transformers, mustard caps still there on the board, does had a hole in the back but the circuit was restored to stock and filter caps replaced. She's a little rough looking, but I do have 48 hours to check it out when I get it.

This should go great with my '72 100 watt and my '74 50. I have a '68 circuit but it's a clone with sozos. Sounds good but IMHO my 'real' marshalls slay it.

So what makes it a holy grail for me? Well, it's my birth month and year. Probably sounds weird to some of you, but I always wanted some gear that was built close to my birthdate.

Pete

Very cool!

No superleads in 1966 so I am screwed in that regard :lol: :LOL:

congrats =0

totally understand your birthdate/gear thing, i bought an ibanez artist 300 from 81 that left the factory the month after i was born (ie it was built the same time i was born) , it weighs a ridiculous amount but great tone to it

Not weird at all. I have 2 1973 Marshall cabs and would like to find a head to match. 73' was a great year to be born. :D

Congrats on the find.

Get a JTM! :) Scary thing is, when you were over to the house what, less than a year ago? I don't think I had any of the vintage Marshalls... probably just had the JCM800 50 watt and the Jubilee. Once the '70 comes home I'll probably take down my '72 stack and use one of the cabs to put under the '70.

awesome....congrats brother! I want to get a LP Std made in Feb of '73

Thanks guys, I figured it wasn't just me. My wife was born in october of '73, so next after this will be some sort of guitar or amp built in '73... "I had to have it, it's about you honey!"

...we'll see how that goes. :) I envy you younger guys, your stuff is cheaper. And I'm glad I'm not much older, then stuff would be waaaaaayyyyy out of my price range.

HOLY SHIT! That's her birthdate. 10/10/73. Damn. *grumbles* maybe it will be there after I free up some cash. ;) If not, then hey, at least it's her birthday and not mine :D
:lol: :LOL: Damn, what are the odds of that! It's a sign. Could be Holy grail part II.

That price is steep for a PCB with an extra hole...

Yeah but......it's his wifes exact birthdate. Maybe it's worth a little extra. :confused:

yeah, if I had the $ I'd probably jump on it just because of the date. I know marshall stamps em out like cookies now, but I bet a marshall made on that exact date will be hard to find again. I paid less for my '72 and far less for my '74 50 watt pcb, but again, the date is what makes it for me. If I did call him on it I'd NEVER mention that though! lol
