Hey Guys,
While looking for videos on the golden era Celestion Vintage 30s (2000-2003) I came across a great video by "Recording Studio Loser", who compared 3 different Mesa V30 cabs (2001, 2006, 2010). He also offers IRs with the mic positions he used for the comparison. I checked out the IRs of the 2001 cab and they're great!
They seem very balanced but with a thick mid range compared to most other IRs that have an unpleasant top end or boomy bass.
Here's how the IRs sound with my Octane SC amp.
After a recent trip, where I played an insane sounding 2001 Mesa OS cab, I've been searching for V30s from that era.
Once I find some reasonably priced ones, I'll put them in a custom 4x12 and probably make some IRs of my own.
I might be entering my Vintage 30 era... haha
Here's also the original video comparing those 3 Mesa cabs.
