I was 15, saved up some dough and got my old man to drive me into the big city. Spent the day going to Mannys and all the other famous music stores. Came home with a brand new Marshall. My dad found this and gave it to me. Cool old memory.

Well, google tells me that 719$ in 1987 would be worth 1,672$ today so a fair price I would say. I bought my 1982 4140 combo in 2008 for 850$. I think I did alright! Drove an hour to meet him in the parking lot. Great amp, still got it and only butchered it with a metro FX loop.

I used to go to 48th St. all the time when I was a kid. Such a bunch of toy stores and so sad what has happened.

Used in 1980 jmp 50 or 100 watt 350-400 all day long. I still have 5 that I might have 2k in.

Those prices even lasted into the 90’s

Pretty cool you still have that.

I think I bought my 79 Marshall 2203 halfstack 1982 cab for $500-700 in 83 or 84 used , I still remember the guys name, his wife was making him sell it. I do still have the original receipt for my 1983 Kramer Pacer Imperial bought for $600.00 at Ricks music shop in Plainfield IL.

I had to save everything I had, I still have that guitar today and it's still my number and has been through a couple of refrets and had to have the Floyd posts reset in maple since the poplar wood post holes gave way.
