Fractal Audio just released their first amp + effects plugin. $299 promo price, $396 standard price.

Right now there are four “volumes” sold in that package, each containing a dozen or so amps, 36 in total, and a bunch of Dynacab IR’s.

Relevant to this forum, not sure how many guys here will be interested as at the moment it looks like all the current amp models are low gain vintage combos, but still, looks like a good sign of things to come.

Quote from another forum:
“The next set is ICONS Hanwell (Marshalls, etc.). Then ICONS Petaluma, ICONS Essex, ICONS Monterey, etc., etc., etc.” - Fractal Audio

I’m not sure what to think about this if I’d be interested or not

I don’t think I care much about the Fenders, but the eventual Marshall and Mesa packages seem useful to me when I don’t want to haul in and fire up the big rig. Or if you're working on a demo and decide you want to change the guitar tone for everything without having to go back and manually reamp 5 or 6 guitar tracks one after the other in real time.

I'd be somewhat interested in the Marshall pack. I already have the Neural DSP Mesa IIC+ Suite, and a few of their Archetype plugins.

2+ years and still using my PolyChrome DSP McRocklin Suite more than any of my other gear. It works well for me.

Yeah I could see that. I use my AxeFx 3 for that already. I use it for time based effects at the end of my chain and to go into the computer for recording and sound. When I don’t feel like flipping on everything, I just plug straight into the axefx for quick and easy playing/practice. Patches setup for each use.

im just in too deep with so many amps/cabs/mic's, but the technology is awesome and im sure sounds great.
