Well, after scouring the area for Recto and Bogner cabs the best I could find was a Framus Dragon cab for $500. It's loaded with V30s, which is exactly what I'm looking for, and in great condition. Anybody know how these sound? I've heard they make great cabs that are comparable to other high end cabs. I'm really looking for a tight cab aimed more at hard rock/metal. Any opinions would be cool

In?

HCAF kinda phrase, it basicly means that I'm interested in the topic and would like to see what other people's responses are. Used to give a free bump to the OP and so it can be found easily on the User Pannel. :)

Aaahhh ok, I get it. I'm not familiar with the HC lingo. I'm intersted in what other peoples opinions are too though   There's not usually a shortage of opinions around here :gethim: ....

Hehe, especially with opinionated motherfuckers like me. :) It's nothing compared to HCAF, I kid you not.

Although my personal tastes are growing away from V30s, I would probably jump on that cabinet, and if it doesn't do what you need it should be easy to resale. I've heard good things about Framus' cabs, but I've never played through one.

Also, it's called DRAGON.

PS: What's HCAF anyway?

Yeah their amps do have some pretty powerful sounding names, can't go wrong with Dragon and Cobra   Most of the guys around here don't care for either of them though, I haven't played either one. HCAF is different amp forum where there's generally more talk of anal sex than amps :emofag: :grim:

My friend used that cabinet on one of his recordings. He said he liked it a lot.

I'd do it, given the condition is good enough.

I had a mesa recto 4x12, VHT deliverance 4x12, and a Framus Dragon 4x12 at the same time. The Dragon was similar to the mesa but a little sweeter/more resonant sounding (sold the mesa and vht, kept the dragon). I loved it with my cameron marshall, makoplex, mak 2, and Uber. Nicely balanced resonant cab. I sold it when the band I was in broke up but I would happily get one again. One thing to note is that the tolex will mar/scratch/scuff/etc if you look at it wrong.

Its actually a really warm and resonant cab. It is the smoothest sounding V30 cab I have ever tried. I do not own one but a friend of mine does and I have tried it with my amp and guitars a couple times. The only thing is that if you are looking for a real tight sounding cab the Dragon cab is not. You can get tight tone out of it but some other v30 cabs will sound tighter, It will however sound sweeter and more resonant than most others. It is also kind of dark sounding,

Alright cool guys, thanks for the info. More than likely I'm going to pick it up in the next couple days unless I find a straight recto cab with V30s, which is highly unlikely

I have the 2x12 and it is really good. However it does not stand up to gigging well the tolex/covering is really thin and soft, mine is covered in chips and scrapes.

ive owned the cobra, dragon and the CS 2x12 cabs. (as well as the matching heads bar the dragon)

the Dragon Cab is one of the best bang for buck V30 loaded cab out there. sounds great with lots of various amps.

as someone has alraedy posted...the tolex is paper thin...it will tear when you look at it...and also if you place anything with weight on it (eg amps with rubber feet) it wil indent easily.
also the pop in castors are a joke.
