Whats the low down on these amps? I'm working out a trade for my Stiletto Ace and have no experience with them. I'll be playing hard rock to modern hard rock. Thin Lizzy, GnR and Van Halen to Black Stone Cherry, Shinedown and Alter Bridge type stuff. Some heavier songs once in a while as well. Are they good lead amps? I heard they are marshall voiced but with a ton of low end which is cool. Any info is appreciated!

I thought they were supposed to be similar to a Recto...correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

seriosly underated amps .3 channel .good clean, tons of gain and low end can do rock to brutal and midi

Are the mids lower like a recto or more like a Marshall? Different from channel to channel? I'd be hoping to run the crunch channel for my rock tones and the lead for heavier stuff. Any experience with how they feel? Liquidy or stiff? Saturated or dry? All the clips I'm finding are low tuned boosted super heavy stuff. On most amps I've had I like to boost for leads... they take pedals well? Lots of questions I know but I have no chance of playing one prior to trading.

Search JDinSC on youtube for my videos. Its a similar circuit to a Soldano, but that's just what I have read via. The forum. They have three DISTINCTLY different channels. A warm chimey clean, an in your face punchy crunch and a modern compressed sounding lead channel. I would recommend a cab a little on the side of bright as they are naturally a darker sounding head and they take a little tweaking to find the sweet spot. Remember that your FX mix has to stay upright at noon, or it drastically affects the amp as well. They also LOVE volume. Mine sounds like two different amps at bedroom volume vs stage volume. It doesn't sound bad low, it just exponentially improves as you push it. They are also relatively sensative to good tubes. My =C= SED EL34s rip with good Ruby pre amp tubes in V1 and V2 with Chinese (JJ) in V3 through V5. Mine loves a boost to tighten it up for modern stuff and wails unboosted for classic rock tones.

Hope all that helps :)

That actually helps a lot. I'll only be using it with my band so volume is not a problem for me. How do you feel it sits in the mix? My cab is a diezel with v30's which isn't overly bright but has that v30 upper mid thing going on. Think that will match up well?

Yea, that cab should be fine. I have played mine through an orange V30 cab and it was magical. Mine is a little touchy in the mix. It was quick to lay on top and over power everyone if I wasn't careful. Needless to say she cut. :) One of my vids is me playing live and all you can hear is me lmfao. Look at that lead tone vid.

Im on my phone now, I'll look the videos up when I get home. Thanks man.

count me in

I would trade if it were me. I like the framus dragon a lot. Huge bottom end, tight response. The crunch channel boosted was killer. Vox ac30 cleans. All midi controlled built in .Killed the recto I had next it to .

Not hissy like the cobra.

Trade might not be happening now unfortunately, guy might have a local deal worked out. Kinda sucks as I was pretty excited to check the dragon out.
