Hello!
I bought 11-56 from D'Addario for Drop C on my Dean VMNT ( 25.5 scale, low action - 1.2 mm D , 1.5 mm C)
And i recieve a big fretbuzz when i hit strong C string ... On open and when fretted.
I will piss on that but I hear this buzz on amp ( but only on clean ! not distortion !)and it slight choke my sustain.

Freat area above C strings look ok - frets has nice crown level and none pf them are high or low ( i checked).
Also I check neck relief - slight backow,

As I mentioned - it appears only on C strings ...

Big string. Raise ur action bro. Or burn the guitar ;) hahaha

I'm guessing that you mean "Dropped C: C-G-C-F-A-D" not "Drop C: C-A-D-G-B-E".

In any event seems you may have an old worn nut (if it's only the one string and the action is set correctly) that simply needs compound filler on the nut slot for the string and then re-filed.

Nut is ok.
Slot for this string is not too high or low - I check it.
I put my finger on second fret and i check the gap above first fret - it was ok.

Raise the action man... Might not need to raise it much but the C string might be just thick enough to cause buzz on the frets. Happened to me when I went to 13's only on the A string (Dropped A). Didn't need to be raised much and it wasn't noticeable to me.

nut sauce, nut file, and/or raise action is my advice. if that doesn't work, a professional setup will take care of it.

if the guitar hasn't already been specifically set up for thicker strings, fret buzz is a common malady as, regardless of how it may look to the naked eye, the string may not be settled properly within the nut. also, what is the bridge situation on the vmnt? trem? locking trem? stop-tailpiece? string-thru? these are all things that need to be taken into consideration and addressed when restringing a guitar with thick(er) strings.

String through.

Previously I used 10-52 in E Standard. Now as I mentioned - 11-56 in CGCFAD

When I change the strings all was ok - they fit in the nut slots.

Is this the same guitar as the last several threads you had about this same issue? It's not rocket science. Go to a pro luthier for a setup or fret dressing. Done!

The neck has BACK bow? Meaning if you are standing up with the guitar strapped to you, the headstock is bending backwards behind you?

ANY amount of back bow is bad... the neck should either be perfectly straight or have some relief... your action is definitely set low, but if the fretjob is good enough and the neck is straight you should be ok...

I set my neck according to site that advices :
for 12' radius the best is 0.10 ( 0.25 mm).

I pres the first and the 19 fret ( where neck meets the body) and look to 8-9 fret position ( for peace i check other strings) and there was slight gap above 8 fret on all strings.

I know my frets in some positions are slightly flat but I piss on it(when the situation will be bad - then I visit luthier). The open string buzz make me insane ...

On D Standard everything is ok.
Maybe the 0.56 is too loose for C ?

Lack of neck relief, strings being too large for the nut slot, and the nut slot being too low are the 3 main causes for open string buzzing. Those are the three things you need to be looking at.

just fuckin play your guitar already and quit OVER ANALYzing this small stupid shit!

holy F!

I looked through the first two pages of search results for EnGl's username and there were around 8 different topics about roughly the same issue - nearly every single one is some sort of string buzz / fretting out / "dead spot" / intonation type problem.

  Guitars are very finicky and very minor adjustments can make a big difference in your buzz. With that said its metal on metal. I can make any guitar buzz. Adjust your playing technique to compensate. You're banging your head on the wall which was my first post. I just finished tweaking out two guitars and they are both awesome. I had some buzz I didn't like on one especially. I made a small tweak to the neck, checked intonation on my strobe tuner and its fine now. If you anylize everything you are going to find something. Its wood and metal. My G string 12th fret decays a little fast. Big deal. Its common. I'd love to see your threads if you put 9's on your guitar.
