Tried some Charvels just now at sam ash. A jap pro mod molten crust lava, CS warren demartini bomber and US style 2 in tangerine metallic. Verdict: All were cool, but didn't like the jap pro mod neck shape/finish as much as the others and none of the finishes really did it for me. Still.... $1699 for the demartini sig is a pretty good deal for CS charvel I'd think.

That is a good deal. The problem isn't that the PM guitar doesn't have a good neck, it is that you A/B against a CS. Once you do that you are ruined for anything but the Charvel CS. At least that is what happened to me. It just has that something extra.

BTW: was this the Sam A on Sunset? I need to get up there soon.
 
Yeah on sunset, I live less than a block away lol. I tried the PM first, it didn't grab me as a neck for me, I can usually tell right away if I'm going to dig it. Which doesn't mean it's not a good neck, just didn't grab me personally.
 
Right on I know what you mean with instant attraction. That bomber looks cool though!
 
Truthfully before playing that thing I would never have considered it due to the finish, but it was definitely nice and that is a good price ;)

Oh yeah I did go across the street and tried out an EVH wolfgang, also very nice but I think I liked the demartini more.
