Had the day off yesterday, finally wired up my buxom boost to the board and really liked how it sounded on channel 2 of the slax. I hardly ever use channel 2 but it sounded good to me. Using the stock IRs in the new Suhr RL IR what ever they were for 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3. Guitar was a 98 Orville by Gibson with BK mules. Vid is from the friendly neighborhood Supaidāman! Enjoy!

Nice! I enjoyed that... I kept waiting for Dave Mustaine to start singing!!!!!!!!!!!

The Slax sounds great through those IR's.

I was using the buxom boost with my Splawn Nitro. I traded it for a Savage Drive but I'm going to rebuy it

Thats such a good sounding amp and sounds even better behind a bunch of good riffs!!

Totally dude! I've definitely been in early Megadeth mode lately and it clearly shows lol.

Might be able to put a clip of some Wizard riffage together. I did post one a while back comparing it to an Uber and a MW Dual Recto, but the Wizard clip sounded like shit. I had it dialed in too dry and it was a bitch to play; not enough saturation for my sloppy playing to hide behind lol! I dial it in these days with a bit more gain, and I also replaced the Painkiller with a Duncan Distortion for some added grease.

I have been using the suhr RI with my friedman smallbox. The suhr Irs seem dark compared to wall of sound Fried 30 cab. Did you use eq on the tracks?

Looking forward to it man! I know I'll get one eventually once I get past all the real life bills and whatnot lol... meanwhile I rely on clips to keep the gas going ;)

Well...I wouldn't look to forward to it because my recordings and chops suck compared to your stuff.

The MCII is an amazing amp, and I still have so much exploring to do with it. I like the Uber and MW Recto just as much though. They all accomplish the same thing for me at the end of the day, but each does so in it's own unique way in terms of voicing and feel. The Wizard has this insane "bark" & "growl" to it in the mids and the way it moves air is unmatched. It's so percussive and hard hitting it's dangerous! Like it'll f$cking scramble your brain if your dumb enough to sit in front of it :aww:

Yup they are eq'd a bit. I always have a MXR 10 band in the loop and honestly it makes a huge difference on the brightness i'm getting. I have mine set with just a slight frown. Also for this recording I did use Waves OneKnob series plugins when mixing, in particular OnePhatter, OneBrighter and OneLouder. I usually set my track levels with the master in mono, then put the master track back in stereo and use those plugins per track to add just enough to make each track stand out a little in the mix. Also there are 3 guitar tracks L/C/R and using a different IR for each really makes it sound more full and complete to my ears. Let me know if you have any more questions, happy to help if I can.

Whoops; Double submission. Man the RT server is acting up big time this week

No worries I've had the same issue when replying lately... I think the RT server needs some luv ;)

Takes me back to listening to Megadeth in 1990 and all the other good things that happened then that will never happen again.

Lots of catchy groovy stuff in there that catches my ear and keeps me listening.
