Hey all!
Not that this is news to anyone here.... but I'm so stoked about this Friedman modded Marshall SLP I simply have to post. I'm not a gear nut don't make too many rig changes. I've been using a Soldano SLO-100 for quite a few years now (since 2004) and that amp made my ears stop wandering. It sort of killed the desire to hunt for gear. It sounded great.... Fast forwarding... I heard much about Dave and his amps and when I finally heard one in person I was pretty knocked out. So.... found a Marshall, sent it out. Four months later I sit in front of it and can't believe how good this thing sounds!! There is such a clarity and punch to it. I feel like I'm hearing things I've never heard before! The string definition is amazing! Like each string is as rich as the next and NOTHING gets lost. Single note lines sound as huge as big chord voicings. And the clean is remarkable for a Marshall style amp. Sure am glad in hindsight I threw down for that. My original thought was "why buy a Marshall to play clean"..... but it's totally usable and worth it. Making it so much more versatile. I play mostly instrumental music and the guitar BETTER be huge..... and man is it ever huge!!!
As I said, I know I'm preaching to the choir here.... but just thought that maybe someone was on the fence and believe me, I'm glad I made this jump. The first amp purchase I've made since 2004..... Thanks Dave!!
